Bon Bon's Testimony

I was raised in a Christian home. Raised, confrmed, married and our children were
baptised in church where we still attend today. My parents and 5 siblings and I
went to church and Sunday school every week. I was a pretty good kid. Got good
grades and had great friends. I dabbled with booze and weed in high school but
nothing too serious. I married my high school sweetheart and we now have 3 kids
and 2 grandchildren.

The road wasnít always how I thought it would be. My high school sweetie was an
alcoholic and tried getting sober a few times with some success. I always felt like I
had a relationship with God, but really didnít know Jesus. I went on a four day Walk
to Emmaus retreat and that changed my life. My biggest take-away from that
retreat was that Jesus loved ME, right where I am. I didnít need to do anything. He
died for me and if I believe that HE is my Savior I can spend eternity with Him in
Heaven. I also learned that I needed to quit picking up the same baggage I kept
leaving at the cross. My stuff and my husbandís was way to heavy to lift.
So the days following the retreat, I prayed. I prayed a lot. I prayed for my husband
instead of being mad at him. After 2 years, God answered my prayers and he has
been sober for more than 12 years. Itís amazing what you can do when you invite
God and Jesus into your life and marriage.

Oh yeah, my hubby made a deal with me that if he got and stayed sober, he could
have a motorcycle. So, we did!
